Futures goes 1st and 2nd at Mr Price Pro

Futures riders Patrick Gudauskas and John John Florence finish 1st and 2nd respectively in what many are calling the best waves ever surfed in or out of competition.  With back to back pumping swells on tap at Ballito, South Africa, 6 foot barrels were the main course all week.  John John was the man to beat, using the tube skills he's fine tuned at Backdoor Pipeline, but in the final World Tour surfer Pat Gudang took the maneuvers road, while JJ stuck to his game, hunting barrels.

“I just got lucky in the final,” Gudauskas said, “John John was the man to beat at this event and it was a tough heat. I went for turns while he was looking for barrels and I think he would have ‘smoked’ me, had he found one!”

Congrats to both Pat and John for their historic performances.  Pat moves up to #15 on the ASP Mens Word Ranking and John moved to #39, inching closer to the mid year cut off for the World Tour.
